A School Love Story – Part 2 (After Farewell)

After the farewell day, everyone went in different directions.
School life ended, but the memories of Satish and Kavya never ended.

They never proposed to each other, never said “I love you”, but both knew there was something special between them.

After the 10th results, Satish joined a PU college in the same town, but Kavya joined a different college. In those days, there were no smartphones for them, no social media, no easy way to talk every day. Slowly, they lost contact.

Days became months…
Months became years…

Sometimes Satish used to remember school days, the coaching class, the bus stand, and Kavya’s smile.
He always wondered. 
"Did she really like me… or was it just school time feeling?"

Life moved on.

Satish started focusing on studies, then job, then family responsibilities.
Kavya also moved on with her life.

Years later…

One day, Satish got a message in the school WhatsApp reunion group.
Someone planned a 10-year reunion for their batch.

At first, Satish was not interested, but after seeing old classmates' names, he decided to go.

On the reunion day, he entered the school after many years.
Same building… same corridor… same ground…

His heart started beating fast.

He met his old friends, teachers, and classmates. Everyone was talking, laughing, and remembering old days.

Suddenly… he heard a familiar voice behind him.

“Satish…?”

He turned back.

It was Kavya.

For a moment, neither spoke.
Same eyes… same smile… but more mature.

They both smiled.

Satish said,
“How are you?”

Kavya said,
“I am good… You didn’t change much.”

They both laughed.

After some time, they went near the old bus stand, the same place where everything once started.

There was a small silence.

Kavya said softly,
“You never told me anything in school…”

Satish smiled and replied,
“You also never told…”

She laughed and said,
“I was waiting for you to say first.”

Satish said,
“I thought you liked someone else.”

Kavya said,
“I did… but he never understood.”

Both looked at each other and started laughing again.

After a few seconds, Satish said,

“Can I tell you something now… after so many years?”

Kavya smiled and said,
“Yes… Now you can.”

Satish took a deep breath and said,

“I liked you then…
I like you now…
Maybe I never stopped liking you.”

Kavya’s eyes became emotional.

She said,

“I was waiting to hear this… for 10 years.”

That day, they did not feel like teenagers again…

They felt like the story that never ended…
Finally got its words.

And this time…
They did not leave without saying it.

Some school love stories don’t end in school…
They wait… until the right time. ❤️
